None of these match It is a three-point crown on an octagon with a letter R in it Also has the number 8142 or 8442 on it but to the side

Oooh! I wonder if it has something to do with cigars and is maybe an ashtray and lit cigar holder Hmm

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

From what little I can see, the Worthpoint site seems to have the closest "looking" mark....and what they're showing is VERY faint!!!! Here's all I could do with the bottom mark on @gauntlettgems jug......both contrasted, top inverted, bottom not....

Does the bulldog have a small hole in his mouth?

Items like these can also be intended as string dispensers, with a ball of string/twine placed inside with the end of the string threaded out the opening in the front.

The mark is that of Schafer and Vater
    http://www.schafer-vater.com/
Gustav Schaefer and Guenther Vater founded the Schaefer & Vater Porcelain Factory in Volkstedt Rudolstad, Thuringa, Germany in 1890.
