    image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg hello,

I'm Rebekah, accidentally hit the J making me Rebekaj. Lol. Anyway was just doing some digging through the gardens and found this item, does anyone have any idea what it is or perhaps if it's worth any money?

The pictures are quite faded but I can see that it has bulls and sumo looking men on them

    Thanks

    Bek

    Hi -
    Welcome to the boards.
Was going to say the same, Davey can probably correct the spelling for you.

Mario posted this as a tea caddy.....so...maybe yours is.....unless it's a tea or coffee pot...

Wow, it's very similar isn't it. I wonder if they are antique or mine just comes across that way because it's been buried

Here's another of the tea caddy that appears to have the marking on the bottom as your piece whatever it is. I think?? the reverse paintings in the glass panels may be the same as yours, but because yours are so faded not sure. The seller says it is 19th century pewter from Swatow City, (now Shantou) China.

I'm not sure sure yours is a teapot that would match the tea caddy because of the following link showing a matching tea caddy and teapot.

What bothers me is if those big men are sumo wrestlers then I would think it was made in Japan rather than China. I doubt they are sumo wrestlers, but men of importance for weight was a sign of wealth back then.

I think that might be the Spanish spelling of Rebekah ;)
