What is this little EPNS dish? It looks Art Nouveau but is it even old?!

Hello everyone! I picked this tiny little metal dish up today at a thrift store, stamped on the base EPNS (electroplated nickel silver-got that part!) I am wondering what on earth it is and do you think it is just Art Nouveau style or could it actually be 1900s? It measures 2.75" across. Thanks for any input :)

Looks of period to me, could be for sweetmeats or a pin dish/desk dish/dressing table dish.
