What is this material called on my vintage purse

    picture2.jpg Hi Friends! My Aunt gave me this purse (60's?) and although I know the long beads that are sewn on are bugle beads, but, for the life of me, I can't find what the material is that has (what looks like) "beads" (plastic) glued or melted onto fabric.
    Is there a name for either this kind of design or the material?
