    I found this on a rotting textile object in a box in a barn. There's about 4 feet of it. 20200123_124707.jpg 20200123_124813.jpg 20200123_124835.jpg 20200123_124849.jpg 20200123_124908.jpg 20200123_124731.jpg

Is "following" a term used for trim ? I can't find any association of that word with clothing or textiles. Is it rickrack? There's an awful lot of words used in the clothing world !!!

Super ! Thanks ! I should have relaxed, had a coffee and waited ! There's a lot of textile terms, yikes. Passementerie is close enough! Dare I try and clean it a little ? Or no?

No. Do not clean. If your intention is resale, buyer will likely have greater expertise. And the example you posted is, of course, much more sophisticated in execution.

OK, thanks, I'll leave it alone. It doesn't seem dirty (and isn't stinky) , just dulled.

I said "following" to follow your post so I could learn the new word: passementerie.

    I can't seem to communicate so I'm out.
