Friend of mine was cleaning out their parents house and found this vial... Apparently it belonged to their grandfather who was a Naval Doc in WW1. I'm thinking a portable flame for sterilizing maybe? The hole in the top is microscopically small. The brass swing stopper reads "F.A.CH.W"
    Thanks!

I've no clue but just thinking out loud....is the little black stopper piece made of rubber? If so, I wouldn't think it would be near a flame.??
