What is this?

    I assume that the mother-in-law brought it back from one of her trips, , , ,.

    3 1/2 inches tall and the top is aprox 2 1/4 inches in diameter. Glazed ceramic.

    Never mind. I found it! It is an English "egg coddler".

    Yup, and an older practical proper kitchenware one. Royal Worcester made fancy ones which are quite useless. ;)

    Yours may be Bourne or Langley or someone like T G Green. 1930s ish.

    LOL! I used to have some from Ireland; every egg tasted just a tad sweet. Have no idea why.
