What is this?

    I have 4 of these. They are 6 1/2 inches long, and made of brass. The screw end is iron, and inserted into the base of the piece. Early 20th century? P1160861.JPG

    That makes sense. Attached directly to the wall, or to a piece of furniture?

    It looks like something is meant to hang from the hole. Do they all have the hole?

    Maybe curtain tie backs ? Id guess 1880s or so in age.
