hello. I found this at a sale today and gave no idea if it is any of any value. It’s made of wood and plays music. Jester has two wires attached and moves

In the 1980s, maybe late 1970s, I had a very similar dancing jester/music box. They were popular gifts.

Don't know if yours is from the same time. Suspect the label is the music it is supposed to play.

 

aaah, das Heideröslein from Master Goethe and bamboozled by Schubert.
the key gives the musicbox away as a cheap Japanese Sankyo one.

After the internet refreshed my memory, I think the OP's is older than mine from 1981 (the internet sayeth 1981).

 

indeed. not comparable to Reuge, Thonet and others. who had the pleasure of listening to both hears the difference immediately if he isn't completely deaf. if you have the chance of visiting the Jura region, then visit one of the museums. Seewen, St.Croix etc.
but for simple toys like here they do their job.

 

It's Harlequin, not a court jester, but I'm finding only the Reuge version.

 

af would know if the keys are interchangable - perhaps the original one lost ?
