    That’s what I’m thinking. Lady told me it was a farrier stool... farriers stand though

    Having been a farrier... you are correct. We do not sit on a stool. Three legs usually meant it was a milking stool.

    I was told by the old timers I knew... (and I am 67 years old, so the old timers I knew actually had cows to milk.) a milk stool has three legs, because it will sit level on uneven ground. Like in a barn... My guess? Milk stool.
