Looks like a memorial, to me.

    Sort of playful/romantic for memorial?

    Maybe a signature here?

Looks like a litho print pulled from a stone.

I was just seeing that winged heart with rake and something else.
And the woman’s head in a wreath with doves around.
I can’t really see the facial expressions.
It is really just a guess. :)

I wonder if L253 doesn't correspond to the usual room height of 253 centimeters ?

Bit of a stretch, that ..of course it could be I suppose ...at least I know a room is 253cm high now:happy::D:rolleyes:

I think the cardboard might further damage the print? Is what Scoutshouse circled a signature?

I think you are correct. I have added a picture of the reverse side with out the frame or matboard. This the actual picture of the back of the print

There's also water damage that has affected both the backing and the "print."

Lots of water damage. Is the print attached to the cardboard itself? My initial reaction is 1920s/1930s based on the two central figures (not in costume, which is earlier, but in execution.) The frame doesn't seem to be from that period though. Curious as to what others think.

Another thought... Those dimensions seem very modern. Are you sure this isn't a modern decorative item?

Hay-rake and grain thresher. I'm gonna guess one of the four seasons (again).

that's a normal continental measure these days. they don't calculate with hands and feet.

I'm quite familiar with cm's, Canada also measures things in cm ..we even read temperatures in celsius and use litres in our vehicles, can you believe!

Just had no idea that 253cm was a standard height.
