What origin is this carved wooden box?

    I found this box today and it immediately reminded me of a chinese design. I could be wrong though any ideas? Thank you for any info!

    The design does not look particularly Chinese to me. Search for "fretwork box" and you will find many comparisons from Europe and the US. Perhaps @verybrad can help?

    Nice box but can not help with origin. Doesn't look Chinese to me either.
