Featured What stone is in this sterling necklace/pendant?

    Hello again kind people :)

    I have another piece that was my mom's. Marked 925 mnsn on the back. The stone is about an inch long lengthwise. The chain is about 20". The clasp is also marked 925.

    I've looked around a bit - and some pieces of raw moonstone i've seen online seem to resemble this stone. Other than that I really wouldn't have a guess. So, what stone is this? Thank you once again for looking and for your thoughts!

    Didn't even occur to me till I was sitting here staring at the pictures I uploaded - maybe MNSN stands for moonstone? Ha - seems obvious now.

    Definitely labradorite. Probably made in Thailand, with that clasp.

    Whoever cut and polished the the stone didn't do a very good job.

    But I think not the labradorite from Labrador, which doesn't have that almost fibrous/flambe appearance.

    It's mined in multiple locations these days. Russian maybe, in this case.

    To me, does'nt need to be a perfect cut and polish, as it is the labradorite is perfectly accorded to the ethnic style of the necklace:happy:
