I've had this table for years and I still can't decide what it is. Moroccan, Chinese, something else altogether? There's no markings that I can find to help identify it. Any ideas?

On the basis of no knowledge at all but going with gut, I might suggest that it is a Chinese stand for something rather than a table, because of the round bit inset in the top. Someone has certainly put a bit of work into it. Might the 'legs' be birds of some sort? Mythical birds? Anyhow someone will be along soon to tell me I'm up the creek:)

Chinese, or Chinese-influenced mainland East Asia. It probably had a marble or red pophyry inserted top, originally.
    Probably phoenix.

I figured the legs were birds of some sort. The rest is a mystery to me! All I know for sure is that it's heavy!

Big Chinese urn or lidded vase stand, I'd say.

I haven't been able to find anything like it online so I'm going with the general consensus here that's it Chinese and not moroccan. Thanks for the input!
