what type of tool is this? 6 inches length

    Its either a burnishing bit for a drill or its part of a handle, the cross hatch part for grip.

    could it be a punch of some sort...that head looks like it has hammer marks....

    Wonder if any maker marks are hiding in the mottled flat area of the head? Make a rubbing to find out.
