What would this little tank go to?

This came in an auction lot of dollhouse items. But it isn't anything for a dollhouse. I've seen larger versions that were fuel tanks for heaters or something similar.

Any idea what this little tank is for?

    Thanks!

Miniature hot water bottle for a bed, I'd say.

It's not sealed. There are the 2 holes in the brass cap.

You'd not fill it if it were a mini one for a doll's house. The real ones had rubber bungs. Yours is missing its wee handle.

You're very welcome. I've seen the full sized ones a fair bit - that baby one's cute. They get filled with sand and used as doorstops sometimes.

I mistrust that whole sales sample thing. I think sometimes such tinies were little novelty giveaways tho'.
