what you guys think of this one ?

I recently bought this painting... can give anybody me any additional information about it ? There is no signature. Any thoughts are welcome. Thanks.

 

with no siggy , I'd say it looks like a copy of a famous painting...

Thanks guys. Two questions. Comparing the painting to the one of WAK I see on the left side a ship is added and on the right side an island. Is this normal, that when is made a copy these things are added? Secondly to me painting feels pretty old and fragile... maybe difficult to see on the pictures. Also with the amount of details to it. I was thinking about putting the painting in a rental property.... is it worth something or shouldn't I be too bothered ?

 

Sure this isn't a print with some hand embellishments?

I attached 2 closeups. There is a small point where with waterdamage a piece of the paint has gone... don't think this would happen if it would be a print ? You tell me...

 

To me, that screams print, and paper, not paint, has been torn off. Also, see all those tiny dots?? Unless I’m wrong, they also shout “print”.......not paint......no brush marks.......at least where you’re showing......

 

oh ya......good photo 901.....we can really see the dots...
like I said...a copy...meaning print..... damaged print......
go put it in the rental.....and don't think twice about it !!

 

nahh...it's the same image that someone cut down.......no one ever added to it..!

 

Isn't the dots because its the cardboard behind thats pressing it (see back of the painting)? There is plenty of brush... see picture attached...

 

that's just the impression of the board...look closer for the dots.....
& yes...someone added some paint to make it look more real....
but it ain't !

 

Close up confirms print. Do see some added paint but the bulk of the image is a print. Here is an article that explains how to tell differences.

Yes I see it now... of course the little small dots are not handmade... so a print and then added paint here and there as verybrad mentioned before... ! Well good I bought it cheap and it's for a rental property... !
