Just watched it again days ago.

 

I bet @springfld.arsenal could tell you what kind of gun that is.

 

It's a double barrel shotgun, you can just see the opening lever above and behind the breech.

It's remotely possible it could be a double rifle, like those the white hunters used on safari, but the odds are against it.

 

Aw heck, the only gun I've got is my grandfather's double barrel shotgun, I should know this.

So did you ever see the episode of the British show "Keeping Up Appearances" called Violet's Country Cottage where they are off at a country estate cottage and the neighbors are wandering about looking for a lost dog? I think it was the neighbor woman rather than the man carrying the shotgun but I immediately thought of that episode when I saw this photo.

 

The angle of that photo (as if peeking over that hedge-looking thingie) really makes this photo for me.
Like... is he still over there with that gun?

He looks like he's daring the photographer to take the picture.

 

He looks as if he has eaten a wasp.

And I'd fail him on gun safety. He should be carrying that gun broken (with the breech open), unless he is about to start shooting things in what I assume is his garden.
