This is at an estate sale were setting up,
Its older and has been recently reinforced on the bottom lower half in the back.

The cabinet itself looks rather aged but the front door decoration doesn't look as old.

Anyone know an age and a idea of value?

Can we see the whole thing from the front? I am thinking an import that might not be as old as you might think. Maybe made from old wood.

I really like this. Style of the decoration suggests 20s or so Chinese.

With the rough cut dove tailing was it someone's hobby project to be 1920s?

What would be an estimated auction price?

Wow, this is a tricky one. I've never seen anything remotely similar. I wonder if that front piece is taken from something else. Wondering if this could be even older. It just has a quality about it. Not massed produced looking. Do the former owners have any provenance? I think the front panel is amazingly beautiful.

They have passed away, but they did seem to like Asian things. Art, vases, and such
Nothing of huge value in the house, this is really the only the antique besides a Eastlake dresser

Looks like a Buddhist shrine. Tibetan, at a (wild) guess. And new. An older piece would be better executed.

Does have a bit of a "shrine" look.

As far as age, would a modern design have lopped off more or less half of the red and black symbols on the sides? I keep coming back to the idea that the front section didn't start out with the rest of it. Maybe it was cut to fit in this box. Or a box made to fit a salvaged piece? It is the center section that looks intriguing to me.
