Found in a box of misc. stuff that was my parents. A bulb of some kind?

I think it is a replacement bulb for a car light.

Probably made in my town, which used to be where Philips headquarters were. Although my town is in the province of Brabant, they used to put Holland on the boxes. Holland is the name of two coastal provinces. This was at a time when no one had heard of the Netherlands.

    It's a slide projector bulb.

Which town? I may have asked before. End of April we'll be visiting our friends in Kortrijk for a couple of weeks. We've been going there almost 30 yea

Eindhoven. Not the prettiest town, much was bombed during WWII. But the people are very friendly, typical laidback Brabanders whose main goal in life is to enjoy it.
We do have a rich cultural life, a good Museum of Modern Art and the countryside is beautiful and dotted with small historic villages.
Hollanders come to this part of Brabant to relax.;) (We let them if they behave themselves.:playful:)

We're going over this year with two friends who have never been to Belgium. We are based in Kortrijk but have planned day trips to Bruges, Gent and Antwerp which is not that far from Eindhoven. Even if we don't go there this year, I'd be interested in visiting next time. We always like to travel to new places.

The internet says it's a headlight bulb!

Many uses, but I was scrapping a projector a while back and it had the same bulb.
All Halogen bulbs I've changed on my cars over the last 20 years had two connectors.

    PS
All my auto bulbs are Xenon now.
They are really high voltage and can kill you if not replaced properly.

If you ever come to Eindhoven, I'll shout you and your hubby lunch in one of our Medieval watermills. It was painted by van Gogh.
I can also show you around Nuenen and more sites related to van Gogh and his paintings. The centre of Nuenen is about 5km from where I live.

That was in Arles, not Nuenen.:playful:
But I'd happily visit Arles again. Ears intact.:D

Lunch could be just potatoes though.:hilarious:

It's a 3 hour train trip from Kortrijk. Something to think about for the next trip. We have two friends with us who have never been to Belgium. I don't think I can talk them into it. If Jon and I go, we'd want to stay in the area a couple of days at least to make it worthwhile. We've never been out that way. We tend to go towards Lille and sometimes Paris (and Champagne!)

For first timers, coastal Flanders is much more interesting than my neck of the woods. My personal favourite is always Brugge (Bruges).
Wonderful! And more interesting than Eindhoven and Nuenen.;)

Besides having all our friends there, we like Kortrijk because you can get nearly everywhere by train. I'd rather stay in a small town than a big city.

As you can see, we have a little bit of Belgium in every room. :)

    And Flanders proper, no less.:)

The only bit of Belgium I have on my wall is an etching of the Grote Markt in Antwerp, because some of my ancestors lived in Antwerp.
My mother's side of the family was spread out all over Brabant, both the Belgian part, like Antwerp, Leuven, Brussels, and the Dutch part, mainly Den Bosch. I still have relatives in Antwerp and Brussels.

We were all over that area last year. It is so quaint & beautiful. My DIL & I love small villages that are not overthrown by touristy areas. We had our Grandkids with us, our son & my hubs. Next time we said everyone else can stay home so we can explore. This year we are going to London & staying at a castle as they are renewing their vows. Still on our list to return to though.

My two friends who were going with us cancelled out two weeks ago. They are terrified to travel. They said they saw that Belgium has a level 3 alert. It's probably safer there than it is here! We'll go and have a good time anyway. I've already messaged my order to our friends who are chocolatiers. Beugnies les Chocolats. Mmm.
