Where is African? mask from exactly?

Bought this for $20 at a 2nd hand furniture store yesterday (they found it in storage unit of furniture they'd bought) - can anyone tell me what tribe/area it is from?

It is a souvenir mask made in the style of the Punu, Gabon. Others on the forum will know more about it.

 

Something very similar to this mask was posted fairly recently by Lovethehunt!
This looks like the same one?? Even down to the scuff marks?

Maybe Journey can elaborate but I believe this is the third item he has posted that love the hunt has previously posted. I think with the previous two supposedly there was a friend in common between them who they both bought and sold from. Not sure how this one would fit into that circle since Journey says he got it from a furniture store.

Perhaps something we haven't considered yet is that there is Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde situation going on here... except based in the world of thrift store picking.

 

The thought did cross my mind, but I was too scared to go there.

Actually I did get this from same middle man! I thought I'd emptied bag of his stuff but thus & another piece (some kind of oil burning bird lamp) was still in his last bag - but I also had 4 or 5 bags of smalls from my friends furniture store in the trunk & when digging through them I saw this and thought it was from my friend's store.
Damm getting old is scary! (My girlfriend is in my ear saying it's not getting old it's having too much stuff!!
