This is a question for @Ownedbybear or anyone else who knows Whitefriars...

I have what I have seen described as a Tankard with Clear Glass Celery Handle, but if you ask me, it's rather puny for a "tankard"... It's about 5 3/4" tall & only 2" across the top opening. Would this really be a "tankard"???

Also, do you have any clue when it was made? 1970's? Earlier?

    Thank you SO much!

It's fine, it's Whitefriars, and yes, the shape is a tankard but purely decorative. They came in graduated sizes, so you could have a set of, from memory, three. 70s ish and blowed if I can recall the shape number.

Don't go on what ebay.co.uk says is WF, they think anything with a pontil is!

Thanks so much Owned - and Komo, too! I knew that it was supposed to be Whitefriars, but I wasn't 100% certain. For some reason, their stuff (albeit lovely!) has never really been all that popular in the US.

I found it in their 1966 catalog:

Whitefriars ruby red glass cylindrical jug with clear handle, pattern number 9504.

    Thanks again!
