    IMG_3246_copy.jpg IMG_3246_copy.jpg Hey Guys,

I´m new to the forum, so "Hi at all :)"
My parents are moving and I offered help to get rid of some things. Above the dinnertable they got this amazing Art Deco Lamp which won´t fit in the new home. Could any of you help me identifying it?

The shiny part is silver I guess.

    Measures are 100x49x98 (l,w,h).

I´m grateful for every piece of information.

    Thank you!

    All the best

Looks in very good condition. The 'silver' metal is likely to be chrome.
Have you checked it over thoroughly for makers marks?
These can fetch decent money here in UK, it's lovely.

Thanks! I did but will do it once again and let you know then.
=> Did it once again, couldn't find any. Is there a special place for those makers marks?

It has been, at least partially, rewired...which is just fine.
The sockets are the better clue but it's possible they are not original.

It may have been 'gas' welded which helps with age.

I agree, those pics make it seem to be late 20th century "deco" to me.

Another vote for 80s-90s Deco style but not 30s Deco era IMO

I'm thinking original. That type of socket on bare metal like that was illegal by the 1980s here. The column pillar is very similar to a light my parents bought in the 50s: that was made by Chance Glass, which is where I'd be looking on this. Probably that time period, too.

Did ANYONE see I was talking about GAS welding???
NO company has done this in a very long time.

Thanks for all your ideas on the lamp, you´re great. I had another chat with my father in the evening. They bought the lamp in the 80s in a shop for antiquers and it was old that days already, the vendor said original 30s. So you guys are right.

I´ll investigate Chance Glass and see what to find out. Thumbs up!

Julian, google on a chap called Mark Hill. He has a blog, might be worth asking.

King, we were still doing gas welding here after the war.
