    Hi there,

I would like to unearth a little about the following piece:

It is signed by one "Santa," possibly in '06 (i'm guessing), from what i can make out?

    A little context:

Acquired this piece on auction, without any information.

Possibly a South African artist, owing to the fact that I acquired it in Johannesburg, South Africa.

However, 'Santa' isn't quite a conventional South African sounding name, but that doesn't discount it.

Santa could be a Spanish name, and the style, could be Spanish I guess???

The artwork, is done with thick acrylic, as far as I can tell....

Maybe sections of it could have be done with fingers, possibly.

Size-wize, i don't have the exact measurements but to approximate, it could be 2.5 x 1.5. So it is quite huge.

This is all i can say on the piece at the moment.

Would you post a close-up of signature and date please?

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

Doesn't appear to be a date there......signature looks to be 'Santa da'.....

Given you found the work in South Africa, Portuguese more likely than Spanish. Lots of emigrants to South Africa from Portuguese colonies Mozambique and Angola back in the day. Suspect "Santa da" part of surname. There is, for instance, a well-known Portuguese golf course designer named Jorge Santa da Silva.
