Who made little this wire and Bead basket

It's only 4 1/2" across the top.
.69 at goodwill. so nothing ventured nothing lost.

I noticed the beads are not uniform in shape.

It might be Maasai or Samburu, from Kenya. They have been making such baskets for sale, using the same technique they us on their beaded collars.

Given quality of beadwork, I suspect a recent Asian import.

As far as I know the African countries for the most part use copper wire. Telephone wire baskets are very collectible. This wire is silver. I'm leaning towards Deboras answer.

 

Beadwork is an important craft in many African countries and the quality is fine (as evidenced by the collar above.)

When I see beaded bowls or baskets of similar construction, they're usually a bit different, brighter, and from Africa - but suspect this one might be Balinese...
