Who made this figuring and what date?

    Looks like late 1800s German or French to me. There is a Mark R and N146 20

    I don't know who made it, I don't see it in my resources so far. There is a rather lively discussion on this site though, heads up, no one knows who made it or when.

    I have found two similar examples, one the seller said was Rudolstadt however I haven't found anything to verify that. What I did want to mention is that it looks like your lady might have the neck of her lute missing.

    Similar piece showing lute, says it has a blue diamond R mark.

    This is the one they say is Rudolstadt and the neck on the lute is short though not clear if it's broken. No good photo of the area. They mention her broken hand and that's not obvious to me.
