Wierd metal piece...

  1. picked this for a couple bucks. no clue what it is. there might have been some welds and or drilling on some areas, so perhaps it acted as a lever to something or was part of a hanging rack or who knows, a handle of some sort? Can you lay it out on something white and take a picture of the whole item please.

Better that you post photos directly into your posts and enlarge them as you did before. Many of us will not open links.

    Probably.

    How long is this part?

Is this big enough to be a horse's bit?
Bird perch in a bird cage?
Just throwing out ideas. Have absolutely no idea.

  8. that part is roughly 5.5 inches across. could be a bird pech definitely. after repositioning it a few times and trying to see what configuration would work, i forgot that at the tip where the small "wings" are is a hole that runs into the rod portion itself. i stuck the pen in it to show you what i mean.

i believe this is how it was setup, slid down into a skinny metal piece that would slide in and hold it in place.logically it made the most sense. maybe part of some old ornate bird cage? or put on the side of a evil castle so the crows could land? idk..i like it tho looks cool

edit- after closer inspection and ajeffersons picture, i noticed that the other ball end actually has a weld. in the same spot as where the steel length of it comes out on the other end...if that makes sense. this could have been a handle to something.. IMAG0902[1].jpg
