    billyd3us Thanks All my Friends

I got this painting yesterday for $1 at thrift store. It is an oil on board of the German composer Richard Wagner. Does anybody know the artist or should I take out of frame and see if anything on back or even some old paper money, that would be cool.

    Thank You

Are you sure this is an oil painting, Billy? Is it behind glass?

maybe a print from a photo of a painting by C. Jäger from 1873. keystone seems to have the rights, so maybe better to sell it somewhere else than ebay.

seems that Carl or Karl Jäger painted a "Galerie deutscher Tondichter" in grisaille technique in 1870/71. therefore the resemblance to old photographs. I'd take it out of the frame to make sure what you exactly have.
