Nice piece. . 1880's - 90's. Probably had a ball shade w/chimney originally. Could keep the electric conversion with a ball shade and would look great. Purist would convert back to oil.

Well I’m not very bright when it comes to lamps. But my first impression is that the very top, where the brass has a whitish color, is old, and all below that, new. Even the marble looks newly-cut. Were “they” using marble of that color for lamps etc. back in the day? I admit I’m a little biased because so much of that fancy brass stuff was imported from everywhere and anywhere in the ‘70’s and on. I’ve never seen an antique lamp with that “patio umbrella” post-thru-Table style. I just had to ask, might be right as rain but it makes me wonder.

they are out there.....but seems not many....

 

I have the table part without the lamp. I use it as a plant stand. It's nice to see one of these will all the parts intact.

 

I have one and have been trying to find information on it for years. My mother had it converted to electric in the early 70s.

 

It's a piano floor lamp. There are many examples on E-Boo.

 

maybe more now, than there were back in Feb 2018.....
