Hello all, This is my very first post, so please forgive my missteps! I am trying to authenticate a piece of copper ware and understand that, although it may look authentic, it is quite possible that it is a reproduction. I am looking for clues. All help appreciated. wmftiny.jpeg wmftinymark.jpeg

    Welcome jrcmillet.
With a WMF mark it is either real or fake but not reproduction. Those who could judge it will need to see all of the bottom as well as the top, the rim and possibly underneath the lid. Looks good to me.

    Welcome
The mark looks good to me and your piece is an Art Nouveau copper and brass punch bowl.
I know the naming seems strange but thats what it is called.

Strange! 4" tall punch bowl? I love it.

Have the handles been resoldered? Would you repair a fake?

Definitely not a "punch bowl" at 4inches. I think it looks good for real WMF.

    Is the inside surface tinned?

Looks like it was "repaired" by someone in his garage who didn't know how to solder.

At 4 inches it is obviously a miniature
Did I get out of that one well :woot:

It's not a "miniature." Certainly not a miniature punch bowl, if that was your meaning. It's sugar bowl.

Think that was Vee's joke, not meaning.
