How much is this worth?

Age? Origin?

Are they rare?

Should I buy it?

 

I would think only one would hurt any value but he's cool anyway for the right price.
Age... Don't know but guess 60s? Been used a lot.

 

Based on what? Were these popular in the 60's?

The seller says it's over a 100 years old but who knows?

 

I've no definite idea, as I stated, but I seem to recall lots of devil stuff around as there is again.
It is nicely made.

 

What fireplace function does it serve, please?

 

Andiron, one of two, to place logs on in the fireplace.
