Found this wood decorative canteen carved / pyrography decorated - cool pattern of figures coming out of beer barrels. Any ideas on age/origin? I know it's probably a hobby/individual piece - but where from? About 11" tall. Thanks again for any ideas!

I'd guess souvenir liquor flask from ... Bulgaria? Maybe Russia. Both did a ton of pyrography. The Poles did it too, but were more apt to go in for chip carving.

It looks Polish to me. I used to have a 'made in Poland' pyrography trinket box with the same decoration when I was a girl.

Could be. Without a paper label there's no way to be totally sure.

I was thinking of putting little girl, but then realized I'm shrinking due to spondylosis, so it may not have been correct....:(

I am shrinking too and being petite to begin with, this is not good.
One day I just may find myself like that B/W film or tv program where the guy shrinks down so tiny he can be attacked by a spider. Although I will not be a tiny guy, I will be a tiny gal. LOL
Sorry Greg, I know you hate spiders.

I am also petite too begin with. Not good in a country of rather tall people.
I saw the movie, wasn't it called The Incredible Shrinking Man?
We are 'the incredible shrinking already petite women'.:D

I don’t think this is home or hobby craft. The patterns are so precise and consistent I’m guessing a souvenir maker set this up on a CNC laser engraver where all he/she has to do is put the wood blank on the fixture and push the button. Then in so many seconds after the laser beam completes its programmed scan, they flip the still-smoking blank over to do the other side. Spray on a water mist to kill any embers, let dry, varnish, pack it in crate with the other 11 and ship it out to fill a retailer’s order.
