    Can anyone tell me what this is or what culture? There is a little compartment with a lid and a hole through to hold it shut.     It is from the Batak, of Sumatra, Indonesia. Probably described as a "medicine" container.

    It is really nice, but made for the tourist trade. That wouldn't have stopped me from buying it though.:)
