I have been trying to identify this wooden eagle. It is painted gold in color.
The back seems to show it was attached to some type of cardboard or paper board.
It was found among other eagles from a known
    gun collerctors boxes.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

What is the size of this eagle?

Looks like it is cast composition material rather than "wood" which means a carving from solid wood as it comes from a tree. Big difference in value, composition items like this were mass-produced during 20th C. for countless applications, particularly for making decorative wall plaques and similar items. Not much value, guess maybe $5-$10, but eagles have a collector following, describe it accurately and someone will buy it, maybe for more than I thought.

Fig, you didn't ask me but it is about 6x6". After you get another cup of tea and look at the pic again you will see how I was able to make the seemingly telepathic measurement.

Very interesting measuring instrument -- I don't think I've ever seen a "yardstick" marked to show 1/4 yard, 1/2 yard, 3/4 yard.

Now I'm curious about the age and origin of the yardstick. :)

    Honest, Wal-Mart? this year's model?

Whoa doggies, I find myself using an old wooden "meterstick" DH showed up with as his contribution to a happy (and sometimes functioning) household.

When first married and not realizing it was a meterstick instead of a yardstick all of my "yard-long" measurements were always off about 3-1/3 inches.

I don't think Walmart. But that cardboard backing is strange.

They were speaking of the yardstick, not the eagle. :)
