Wooden clock , should I be proud I get it as a gift ?

    Hi ,
    I get a lot of staff from grant parents and I am interested how old are those furniture and how much are they worth ?

    I could be wrong,but that looks like a kit from the 70s.

    I agree the box and wood looks like 1970s styling.
    Whether the clock movement is old or new, I can't tell.

    That is a reproduction of a 14th C verge and foliot clock, and superficially looks to be quite a good one. No 'antique' value but any clock enthusiast would want one if the price was reasonable. The case appears to have been made from wood from an old barn that had collapsed some years before, so it is a shame about the very obvious modern screws.
