I received some wooden hand drills from my grandfather. Apparently they have been passed down for some generations. I would be curious if anybody here knows anything more about such drills. From which time period could they be? We're in the Netherlands, if that matters.

Hello, I know that I am responding to an old thread, but those may also be called Bitstocks. That type of bit is referred to as a Center Bit.Regards, Lou

yes it is old....but like a good reference book...updates are always welcomed and valued...!!!!!

( unlike a 4 year old thread where a newbie shows up with.." Hey, can I buy that ?? )

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

I like the comparison of updated old informative threads to reference books. They certainly can help somebody in the future.
