Wooden sculpture Asian woman know country/wood?

    Anyone know what country or wood this sculpture of an Asian woman?

    It's 11 & 4/8th" by 2 & 5/8th wide at base. I forgot to take a picture of the base.

    I kind of like it but also interested in your thoughts on its quality.

    There seems to be some fine polished work in places. When I mean fine, there is a certain tip that seems like it took a lot of time and skill to get right.

    Also, one side looks like it was either worn or is a lighter aspect of the type of marbled pattern wood grain. Not sure what it is but it's not rough as if a layer was removed.
