Wooden spoon?

Hello. I may be mistaken but I thought that recently there was a question on the similar item. Is this a spoon or some tool? Decor? It is about 10” long. There is small mark on the back, hopefully you can see it on the photo. Anything that you can tell me about it will be appreciated. Thanks

 

When I see a lanyard I think "DECOR PIECE" - but I'm wrong alot .

The ball inside the handle moves along the opening. It was probably carved inside the handle or added by some special technique.

 

Combined Jk....looks like some kind of a home carved spoon with a single rattle in the one end?

Looks like a project out of Woodcraft magazine or other magazines.

 

Got a lot in common with a weaving shuttle.

 

Intending no disrespect, but it is not well-carved, perhaps someone's amateur attempt at a 'love spoon', they sometimes include caged balls - when done well, the ball or balls are smooth and round. Welsh love spoons are not the only ones found with caged balls, but here are some images:
