Featured Worcester? Probably not

I grabbed this in Malton today. Quick Google search threw up 'Worcester, first period' so I got all giddy. Now I'm thinking perhaps not. The handle is different and it seems to lack quality. Also mine has a different shaped handle completely covered in gold paint and an incoherent Rgd mark printed on the base of the cup. There is one as equally incoherent impressed on the saucer.

    I'm no help but I think it's adorable. I love a thistle.

Yes I like it too. I'm always instantly drawn to anything that's cobalt blue with gold.

First period Worcester is long before they started using registration numbers I believe.

Any guess on the impressed mark on the saucer?

The mark on the cup is printed, not hand-done. It's too late for early Worcester. I can't actually read the cup or the saucer, but probably could in person. Some of the actual Euro porcelain experts may know more.

From memory so this isn't definitive...
I don't think 18th century saucers had the well which wasn't introduced till 1820 or so.

The base of the saucer doesn't look English and the handle is more mid 19th century.

Did you get that from the rd number? Not Worcester. Late 19th/early 20th c. I bought a Royal Lily patterned c & s in Scotland at an outdoor sale. Thought it was 19th c, but when I was back in Canada, I looked up the rd number and it was like 1923, LOL!

Yes. Some time in the mid 19th century so this also rules out early W.

Yes, the Rd. number led to another pattern with the same shape, marked.

I've got 108734 for the number but it didn't give any joy.
