Hello I was at a preview for an auction that I might go to on sunday. I came across this painting and noticed it was old and signed. What's confusing is there is some initials and after the initials it says "after carl c. Brenner " I'm not sure what that means. Does it mean the painting is not done by Carl c brenner? Or was it done to immitate carl c brenner work? If anyone has any info that would be great. Thanks! 20170210_125213.jpg 20170210_124543.jpg 20170210_124530.jpg

Usually, it means it's a copy.

It would be a copy of a painting by Carl C. Brenner (or a painting inspired by one of his works.) He did many scenes similar to this as you can see by visiting the link below. Brenner was a much more talented painter though than his copyist.

Ok thank you guys for the info! So probably wouldn't be worth bidding on value wise?

Somebody was a fan of Brenner's, or was paid to make a tourist souvenir copy of a painting by Brenner. If you like it and it goes cheap, go for it.
