Wrought Iron I.D.

    As a teenager, I found this in an antique bottle dump in in the woods - mid 1970's - everything in the dump was 1840's - 90's. It's hand wrought, 6 " long, two small holes in round portion (top & bottom). For decades, I figured, it's a latch or a device to stop a wheel from rotating in the wrong direction (mill or farm equipment). Other ideas ? IMG_5180.jpg unnamed.jpg
