WW Chest Trunk Help

Found these trunks at my aunts house. They belonged to her Father he was in WW! so I assumed he brought them back with him one is painted I took close up of the writing hoping it might help. But I can't seem to find any others like them. But odds are I am using the wrong search terms. Any help would be great thanks.

I guess I should have put measurements. No way it could be ammo box to big. And heavy if you were to put ammo in them you wouldn't be able to pick them up. But thanks for the suggestion. They are about the size of a foot locker.

it's a "frag bomb kit conversion crate"

 

Box held some pieces parts, one of which was for the AN series M40 bomb.

On a side note, I found the piece below at an estate sale a couple of years ago and it baffled me for a while. It's the cover to a 'Fuze' for a MK-45 projectile:
