Jivvy the research is my favorite

My guess is that the stitcher's initials are "MB" and the piece was completed in 1980. The primary image is the battalion's "coat of arms" per History of the 745th Tank Battalion (August 1942to June 1945) found here: https://digicom.bpl.lib.me.us/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1022&context=ww_reg_his

Didn't spend enough to sort the triangle emblem, but it's on the cover of the above linked book, so probably some info there.

The patch depicted at the upper left is that of the US Army 1st Infantry Division ("the Big Red One"). That depicted at the upper right is of the US Army 2nd Armored Division ("Hell on Wheels").

I agree with @Jivvy that the stitcher was MB and the piece completed in 1980.

Possibly then, the piece was made for stitcher’s father or gf who was in the 745th during WWII. The unit was disbanded right after the War so it is definitely some kind of remembrance item.
