Hope everyone is having a lovely Saturday.

Well, I finally had a chance to find some of these posters. I came across them at a flea market and instantly fell in love with them. The seller had about 7 of them but these were the only ones in the best condition. I snatched up these 3 for $80. They aren't in prestine condition but for going on nearly close to 100 years after printing and on paper, it's expected for some tears and creases.

One is a Marine recruitment poster. The other two are Liberty Bond posters. I'm going to get these framed for sure. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do. image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

Thanks Messilane. It was rather heart pounding when I seen these. The seller hadn't done research and was just wanting cash. He had a general idea of what they were but not sure. After some researching, I found out that the second Liberty Bond poster is Very scarce, it was one of the first Liberty Bond posters printed. The crazy thing, the seller had two of these. The other was almost torn completely down the middle. I might try to get that one also but not sure yet.

    Very nice find.

You must get them authenticated though.

These could be restored and it's probably worth it.

    Great graphics.

Where can I get them authenticated? I would love to see these restored and nicely framed. Great images from a time that imagery was a driving force.

They look very foggy. The first one looks very faded.

They appear that way because my phone camera is scratched like crazy.

All I could remember was the loud suit he wore for years! Lately he has been wearing one of similar base color, but toned down in the plaid department. ;) Glad you knew the name, Aquitaine!

Thanks Aquitaine. I know exactly who you're speaking of. Thanks for the contact info. I'll surely take pictures of them with my digital camera. There are some tears that range about 7 inches long but I've seen some nice restoration work done on much more severely damaged paper items.

image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg Here are a few more images. The recruitment poster has half of the metal band at the top. It has the part where it would of hung from in the middle. One Liberty poster has holes along the top and the second Liberty poster has remnants of where it was hung up by tape. The paper is very thin feeling and you can see the images of the Liberty posters on the back of the posters too. The Liberty posters measure roughly around 20 inches wide by 30 tall.

    Nice!!!
    Many of these are reproduced.
I've seen the Marine one I think... Happy birthday Marines!
If the others aren't reproduced perhaps you can do so. :)
I'm all over the battleships and of course, Ms. Liberty. ;)
