WWII Canteen?

    While WWII canteens were issued and used for some time after the war, the pouch is certainly from WWII, as it is dated 1941. The canteen itself is most likely also from WWII, the only update for later use would have been the cap...which can be easily replaced with newer ones. Even WWI canteens could be used in WWII, just by replacing the cap and pouch. But, this canteen displayed was made in 1945, and it too...is dated.

    Where are you finding the dates?
    Where and how are you finding the dates? Just so I can know how to date them.

    I found the info it says Foley and can slightly make out the year under the stamp. Thank you so much.

    Did Vollrath make canteen? Not finding date on cover though but I am so grateful for the information. I will still look for the date on cover.
