    Hello all!

I picked up this photo at an antique shop in Pennsylvania (I also bought 2 different photos with the same setup). I cannot tell if they were from a book or a photo set with numbers to match? The photo seems to be pasted to a thicker backing which appears to be cut from a book? The title of the photo is on the bottom of the thick paper .. and the title and a description is on the back of the actual photograph as well (There is also a picture no. on the backing and the photo).

    Thanks in advance!

P.S. - I purchased these photos because I collect WWII historical items - and I do NOT support the Nazis

I think it would help to see the full "inside back" plus the same with the other photos. If it can be done without damage.

The first picture is the back of the actual photo.
The Second is the inside of the thicker backing.

Note how they both say Bild Ar 142 (meaning page 142)

Thanks Springfield! I would never have found that. So essentially it was a photo book that had blanks and you filled it with photos from cigarette cartons.... So somewhere along the line whoever I got it from cut it out and sold them separately. Still cool that is from the era though.

    JMHO.
    1. you get the whole book on amazon.
    2. not rare at all and as cut-outs worthless.
    3. ALL officially published photos were made by Heinrich Hoffmann and are now in the National Archive in Maryland or in the Bayrische Staatsbibliothek in München (online: https://www.bsb-muenchen.de/sammlungen/bilder/fotoarchive/)
    4. the linked site IS a money-making site and complete BS.
