this was something else i found the other day for very little, the charity shops have started with their christmas decorations, and always have a little butchers for vintage pieces

the fact thats he's bisque porcelain makes me think he's quite old. vintage at least
the metal coiled string looks old as well

have't been able to find one the same

    any thoughts or info appreciated

Well, let's see what others think. But as my great-grandfather used to say... I've decorated hundreds of Christmas trees... and these are 1990s-ish or later to the best of my recollection.

there probably have been types made every year for a hundred years so i know what your saying

i get a feeling this is old though or mid century by the way the bisque feels etc, the face looks old school as well

I'm with Deb. I have some bisque angel statues that are 1990s and they have similar faces.

of course that's possible........... but that specific type of thread is not sitting around in everyone's sewing box...

It could be hanging around in their Christmas decoration boxes though.

    I suppose...

So, are you saying it item is older than the popular opinion ,so far ?
& the string is just a newer addition...

Just a suggestion. I haven't a clue how old it is or how or when the string and cherub came together. Just saying you can't tell a baubles age by it's string. Sounds like something out of a fortune cookie.

A modern metallic thread provides supporting evidence that this is a modern piece.
