As I work my way through this stuff, I'm finding a few things that I like a lot! This is one of them.
Bowl by William B. Kerr, 9.5 inches from point to point, 2.75 inches deep The florals around the rim seem to be poppies.
Is this style considered Art Nouveau? Also, the floral pattern is thick, as is the rest of the bowl. Is this an applied element, or was it all cast in a mold, or is it considered repousse?

By the way, this was a pain to polish.

I'd guess you aren't from Alabama.

I don't see repousse, Frank...the backside is un-patterned, as it would be showing the same level of upset surface as the front if it were. I doubt it's cast, so it is probably an applied pattern...bicbw. Others will weigh in soon about those details.

I agree with your assessment. I posed the question because I've seen similarly made items called repousse, and it confused me.

I only see a lot of glare, so I can't see the style. Could you photograph it in daylight but not direct sunlight please?

The Kerr firm stuff that I’ve had is all very nice. They seem to have been at the higher echelon of quality. There’s nicer, but there’s a lot that’s not as nice.

It's a pretty bowl. I'm not seeing repousse either - that means the design was hammered in from the back. This looks molded.

Sorry this took so long, but these photos were taken in daylight, on our porch.
