When I bought this, I had no idea if it was a deity, a mythological figure, or some kind of computer game character, but apparently this is Zhu Bajie

    Wood look resin?
And does anyone know if those bits of gold should be there, as part Zhu Baije's story? Or did someone kid just spill a bit of paint on it?

Only noticed that when I got home

:p Right ..., I think I only mentioned that, as usually I only find bone and red coral look resin pieces

It is possible that they were going for a patinated bronze look.
