Featured 835 Continental Silver German Coin Dish (Ca. 1911)

    Bought at flea-market today:

    German-made silver dish/bowl with 3 Mark silver coin inside it. Dish measures 19cm from side to side.

    By the time the Weimar hyperinflation ended that coin was three million million paper marks.
    I supect the actual dish is post WWII, though. 'Handmade' became more of a selling point in the llatter half of the 20th C.

    I'm with AF, 1911 is the year of the coin, not of the dish. The 'Handarbeit' stamp was also used a lot on silver of the 1920s-30s.

    I know 1911 is the date of the coin. But I had no other way of dating this piece, so I based it off of that. Sorry, I guess.
